A SUPERCAR WITH GT3 STYLE: 100 kg less, rear-wheel drive, 640 HP 5.2 V10 naturally aspirated engine to bring the track experience to the road

Yesterday afternoon Automobili Lamborghini finally unveiled the Lamborghini Huracán STO, Homologated Super Trofeo. The new model is a further evolution of the Huracán. The starting point of the technicians of the house of Toro was in fact the Performante version, every aspect of the car was further improved especially in terms of aerodynamics. The natural habitat of the STO is not just one, it is approved for both the track and the road.

The new model is openly inspired by the Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the company department dedicated to motorsport. To bring this unique creation to life, the superior aerodynamics and engineering solutions of the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and Huracán GT3 EVO, three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona and twice of the 12 Hours of Sebring, have been enhanced.

Lamborghini Huracán STO: track character

Thanks to its naturally aspirated 640 hp (470 kW) V10 engine generating 565 Nm at 6500 rpm and a weight / power ratio of 2.09 kg / hp, the Huracán STO goes from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.0 seconds and from 0 to 200 km / h in 9.0 seconds, with a top speed of 310 km / h and a braking distance from 100 km / h to 0 in 30.0 meters.

These features combined with the motorsport design, high aerodynamics and ease of steering, make driving this super sports car a breathtaking experience.

AERODYNAMIC DESIGN

There are numerous characteristic aerodynamic elements that the new model takes from the Squadra Corse. For example, as regards the exterior: the front splitter, the louver in the fenders, the ventilation ducts on the hood and the NACA duct on the fender, the shark fin, the air scoop and an adjustable rear wing. All this is accompanied by a huge weight reduction thanks to the use of ultra-light carbon fiber panels and the development of “sandwitch” aerospace technology. Another distinctive element of the Lamborghini Huracán STO is the particular “cofango” that unites the bonnet and fender.

SPORTY AND LUXURY INTERIORS

The interior of the Lamborghini Huracán STO also follows the sporty character of the exterior. Carbon fiber is the most common element, it is present in the door panels and seats. The light Alcantara upholstery, the four-point seat belts, combined with the new touchscreen and the advanced telemetry system make track performance comfortable but extremely exciting.
